Breakfast at The Residency Towers
After an instant invitation from one of my team members I decided to start the Saturday morning with a breakfast at one of the popular star hotels in Chennai - The Residency Towers. Since the invitation was 'instant' there was absolutely no planning done and we suddenly realised that commutation would be a problem. We were at our office in the OMR, when this idea struck us, which was roughly 25 kms from the hotel (Did I say that we work night shifts?) and we had cabs arranged to take us to our respective homes. But we would not be able to make it after going home since the breakfast closes at 10 am and we get off work only at 8 am. So we decided to stop planning about anything and jump into action and after exploring every mode of transport like call taxi, Share Auto (which has become one of Chennai's identities) and the local bus we reached the hotel premises by 9.35 am. With time constraint, playing spoilsport in our plan, we immediately lunged into the restaurant and headed straight for our breakfast plates. We spent around 45 odd minutes (we were given grace time by the restaurant supervisor) enjoying the meal and the rush hour we had experienced sometime ago. The ambience of the restaurant was very good and the price reasonable. After the buffet was closed we spent some time clicking photographs inside the restaurant and eyeing the 'few people' in the crowd....It was definitely a refreshing experience trying out breakfast in a restaurant instead of the customary lunch and dinner that form a part of our weekend agenda
